Black is one of my favorite colors for my wardrobe! In fact, this is the color that stands out the most in my closet. It’s an easy color to match other pieces and it’s also a great option to make you look slimmer 🙂
In my opinion, you can wear black no matter the season because it will always look great no matter your skin tone. Now, wearing all black can be, but it doesn’t have to be boring. The key to create a bold but glamorous outfit is to be creative with the pieces you bring to put it together. For that reason, I have 5 tips to make an all-black outfit fashionable:
1. Look for pieces with cute and trendy feminine details
There is nothing better than finding simple pieces adorned in feminine details, such as ruffles, ties, lace-up, layers, etc. Going this route will make a simple outfit look chic and cute. In this case, I’m wearing a blouse with the most beautiful ruffle sleeves and tie detail! It made want to cut those ruffles off and keep them with me all the time haha! They’re seriously BEAUTIFUL!
2. Pick trendy tops that show a tiny bit of skin
Some great examples are the tops with choker neck with V-cut, cold shoulders or the cropped ones. By doing this, you will notice the pieces will stand out individually instead of just blurring together and get lost in the solid dark color. Look how the cold shoulder blouse I’m wearing really stands out.
3. Pick different textures and fabrics
From lace, silk, linen and velvet to suede, fur and leather. Any of these can be great options to make an outfit look elegant. Contrasting these textures and fabrics can be an eye-catching without looking too flashy.
4. Add jewelry that stands out
It can be gold or silver, even white or any of your favorite jewelry color! You can’t really go wrong with anything here. Just make sure the jewelry stands out and brightens up the dark look.
5. Add a Statement Piece or Pieces
You can play around with many different options here. This is when you can show your bold side, so don’t be afraid of adding a statement purse, statement shoes, statement sunglasses or wait, why not even all of them at the same time?!
To complete the look, I’m wearing a pair of cat-eye black sunglasses with gold details that matched my black and gold jewelry.
